Financial Controller – Southeast Region
Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is a leading automotive retailer with significant annual revenues.
The organization operates numerous automotive dealerships, franchises, and collision centers across the United States and the United Kingdom, representing a diverse range of automobile brands.
Group 1 is currently seeking a Financial Controller for its Southeast region, which encompasses multiple states. This role will report to the East Region Controller.Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties of this role include:
Overseeing all financial accounting and reporting for the market;
Managing the monthly financial closing processes to ensure timely submissions to corporate headquarters;
Responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of Accounting Managers;
Acting as a key financial partner to the Market Director;
Enhancing market operational performance in collaboration with the Market Director;
Serving as the primary liaison between operational management and accounting functions;
Facilitating internal and external audits by ensuring prompt responses;
Flexibility in office locations within the region as needed; and performing additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong leadership and team management capabilities, along with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels;
Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution;
A solid understanding of accounting principles;
Over ten years of relevant experience in accounting within a multi-location automotive dealership group, including three to five years in a supervisory capacity.
Familiarity with CDK Global DMS and proficiency in Excel;
