Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in Newburgh. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in collecting and processing patient specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
  • Explain the process of venipuncture and specimen collection to patients in a clear and courteous manner
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using straight needles and butterfly needles
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
  • Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature
  • Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
  • Attend annual department trainings and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent patient interaction skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Compensation:

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $23.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
