We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Leader to join our team at Wright Tree Service. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for supervising a line clearance crew and planning daily work to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Direct Crew Members: Assign work to individual crew members and direct them in performing tasks according to accepted line clearance practices.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Enforce safe work practices, recognize poisonous plants, and use proper safeguards to prevent accidents.
- Communicate with Customers and Stakeholders: Obtain permission from property owners to trim or remove trees, arrange access, and advise customers of work schedules and interruptions.
- Manage Crew Performance and Productivity: Keep accurate records, timesheets, and reports related to crew performance, and furnish supervisors with reports on orders completed and units of work.
- Operate and Maintain Equipment: Safeguard employees and public from hazards, operate trucks and equipment, and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
- Train and Develop Crew Members: Provide safety training, mentorship, and coaching to ensure crew members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Determine proper action to take in emergency situations, including trimming or removing trees to expedite restoration of service.
- Experience and Qualifications: Minimum 3 years' experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews, or successful completion of applicable performance reviews.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership skills, ability to handle stressful situations, and effective communication with customers, stakeholders, and crew members.
- Knowledge and Certifications: Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and arboricultural techniques; American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z); and herbicide applicator or operator certification.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds; withstand exposure to all kinds of weather; and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
- Education and Certifications: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), medical card, and First-Aid and CPR cards.
