Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing indirect and direct patient care, working closely with our healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain medical information and vital signs
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens
  • Provide authorized prescription and drug refill information for pharmacies
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses
  • Assist with virtual health visits, including setting up the visit, pre-charting, and troubleshooting issues
Requirements
  • Active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA)
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification (AHA)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of externship or clinical lab training
  • 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience (preferred)
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, and physical altercations. You will be required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment, and follow infection control policies.

Physical Requirements

This role requires manual dexterity, the ability to perform shift work, and the ability to hear alarms and audio recordings. You will be required to reach above shoulder level, perform repetitive arm and hand movements, and have finger dexterity.
