Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver CDL A OTR to join our team at Ryder System. As a Regional Class A CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination and transporting goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Loading and unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight as required by the customer
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide a valid CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle
Benefits
  • Competitive weekly average pay of $1615+
  • $1250/wk minimum guarantee for 5 days worked
  • Hourly pay: $27.00 per hour
  • Regional routes within a 300-mile radius of your home
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours
  • NST tenure bonus: $1000 each year when actively employed from Nov 1st – Oct 31st
  • Overnights for routes in Ryder booked hotel or sleeper, per diem pay: $50 per night
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, must be flexible
  • Hours per week: 50+ hours average per week
  • Deliver to: NE and New England region
  • Trailer type: Dry van, reefer, flatbed
  • Freight: Touch/no touch – varies by account
  • Comprehensive benefits start 30 days after hire
  • Paid time off starts at day 1 – 80 hours accrued in the first year
  • We reimburse cost and provide training to obtain endorsements
Equipment and Training
  • Tractor type: Day cabs and sleepers
  • Trailer type: 48' – 53' dry van, reefer, flatbed, conestoga, and curtainside
  • Cannot accept auto restriction
  • 3 months flatbed experience required
  • Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful
  • Equipment: Manual pallet jacks, rollers, lift gates, and Moffett
  • Load securement: Strapping, tarping, and chaining
