Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare the surgical operating environment with sterile drapes, solutions, and the necessary instruments and supplies.
- Provide requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operations.
- Assist in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
- Maintain an organized inventory of instruments and monitor instrument counts throughout procedures.
Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer required. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Required Credentials:
- Surgical Tech credential from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire or transfer.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, OR an Associate's degree/Technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
