A Radiation Therapist plays a crucial role in the treatment of patients diagnosed with cancer. This professional is responsible for documenting patient medical histories, identifying tumors through imaging techniques, and formulating treatment strategies in collaboration with a supervising radiologist and the oncology team.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Expertise in radiation safety
  • Strong communication skills with patients and colleagues
  • High level of precision in a fast-paced treatment setting
  • Problem-solving abilities related to treatment parameters
  • Proficiency in computer systems and knowledge of record-keeping software

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Valid New Jersey State Radiation Therapy license
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an ARRT accredited radiation therapy program

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  • Administering radiation therapy to target and treat malignant tumors as per the prescribed plan
  • Monitoring and documenting patient responses to treatment
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Addressing any inquiries related to radiology from patients
  • Ensuring equipment maintenance and adherence to safety protocols regarding radiation exposure
