Job Overview

Position: Fiber Splicer

Company Profile: Gudenkauf, a Congruex company, excels in broadband network construction and engineering, delivering comprehensive solutions for major service providers across the United States.

Position Summary: We are in search of a skilled Fiber Splicer and Tester to operate in the Northern Virginia region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret technical drawings and comprehend fiber optic color codes for installation and testing across diverse settings.
  • Utilize fiber fusion splicing equipment along with OTDR and power measurement tools.
  • Install aerial and underground splice closures efficiently.
  • Conduct testing using OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources, and Visual Fault Locators (VFLs).
  • Ensure proper bonding and grounding of fibers in accordance with client requirements.
  • Exhibit professionalism and comply with safety regulations.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Foreman or Construction Manager.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in fiber splicing.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and system documentation.
  • Knowledgeable about fiber cable construction practices.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to handle a 24-foot ladder and utilize fall protection gear.
  • Prepared to work in various weather conditions and travel as required.
