Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Portland Trimet Lift Operator to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers with disabilities, operating a transit bus or van, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transportation Services
    • Operate a transit bus or van to transport passengers with disabilities safely and efficiently.
    • Provide door-to-door assistance to passengers, including escorting and assisting with mobility aids.
  • Vehicle Maintenance
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, including answering questions and providing transit information.
  • Adherence to Company Policies
    • Follow all rules and regulations of the Company and TriMet, including those related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Must be 21 years or older.
    • Must have a good driving record.
    • 5-year driving history required.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Good motor skills, good hearing, accurate color perception.
    • Ability to apply proper driving procedures.
    • Ability to learn transit routes and schedules and adapt to changes.
  • Physical Demands
    • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
    • Primarily seated in vehicle; stress caused by passengers and traffic.
