We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team at Printpack Medical in Marshall, NC. As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect sample bags and verify the number of slits, punches, quad-vents, and video jet markings.
- Inspect 100% of product and pack out per specification.
- Communicate with previous and current shift operators, Quality Technicians, and lead regarding ongoing safety, process, or machine issues.
- Shutdown the machine if the operator is not available and bags are defective.
- Verify that all product is manufactured in accordance to documented specifications and meets/passes all internal and external quality requirements.
- Ability to operate test equipment, and to perform test methods according to procedure and specification.
- Accurately assess test results and disposition product according to results.
- Attentive to details and accuracy in job performance. Ability to perform computer data entry functions.
- Participates as a team player who respectfully communicates, shares knowledge and cooperates with other team members.
- Document inspection activities and material traceability on Inline Sheets and within the Converting Database.
- Ensure product meets all work order requirements, quality, customer and internal specifications.
- Perform material testing per specification, record test results and disposition material as pass/fail per results.
- Train new and existing packers and inspectors on processes and procedures included in the Quality Management System - primarily those related to test methods and the inspection function.
- Identify Non-Conforming Material, communicate findings, and process paperwork to accurately track, identify, and quarantine product according to procedures.
- Complete NCMR's Monitor process control and process conditions to ensure processes are operating within approved and validated criteria.
- Understand and complete accurate work in computer database programs.
- Participate in safety improvement programs/projects including BBSOs and 5S events/responsibilities including work area cleaning.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to understand and read basic instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to quickly sort finished product.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing is part of the normal routine.
- Strict compliance with personal hygiene standards.
- Ability to participate as a productive team member.
- Ability to work weekends and OT as necessary.
- Experience with high-speed packing machines.
- Computer experience.
