Responsibilities:


The Nursing Director is a Registered Nurse who takes on 24-hour administrative oversight for the management and coordination of all nursing functions within the Emergency Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care delivery.
  • Developing and executing departmental strategies, including performance improvement initiatives and adherence to current regulations.
  • Maintaining 24-hour accountability for the Emergency Department.
  • Overseeing and evaluating all personnel assigned to the department, ensuring effective utilization of nursing staff.
  • Consulting and communicating with staff, physicians, and administration regarding nursing matters and hospital policies to ensure patient needs are addressed.
  • Engaging with external agencies, patients, and their families to provide comprehensive care.
  • Providing triage and treatment for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients seeking emergency services.
  • Assuming supervisory responsibilities as needed, including responding to emergency codes throughout the facility.


Qualifications:

  • Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
  • Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience is required.
  • At least three years of continuous clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required for all new hires.
