Job Summary

Copper World Inc is seeking a highly skilled Security Specialist to join our team. As a Security Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets. This role involves managing and overseeing contract security personnel, safeguarding employees, contractors, and visitors, and protecting site facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect Personnel and Assets:
    • Safeguard Employees, Contractors, and Visitors:
      • Ensure the safety of all individuals on-site by developing, implementing and enforcing comprehensive security protocols and procedures.
      • Regularly assess and improve security measures to mitigate risks and prevent incidents.
    • Protect Facilities and Equipment:
      • Monitor and secure facilities, equipment, and other assets against theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
      • Ensure all security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarms, are fully operational and properly maintained.
    • Emergency Preparedness Support (Crisis Management and Emergency Response):
      • Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and communication protocols.
      • Participate in emergency drills and ensure all personnel are trained and prepared to respond to crises.
  • Manage Site Access:
    • Access Control:
      • Enforce site access procedures, ensuring that contract security personnel manage entry and exit points effectively.
      • Oversee the issuance of identification badges and access credentials, maintaining accurate records of all site entries and exits.
    • Visitor Management:
      • Develop and enforce visitor management protocols to ensure that all visitors are cleared to enter the site.
      • Monitor visitor activities to ensure compliance with security policies.
      • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all security operations and incidents.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation:
    • Identify Threats:
      • Conduct regular security assessments to identify potential threats to the site, personnel, and assets.
      • Analyze security data and trends to anticipate and address emerging risks.
    • Develop Mitigation Strategies:
      • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified security risks, including physical security measures, policy updates, and employee training.
      • Collaborate with other departments to integrate security considerations.
    • Manage Contingency Planning:
      • Develop and maintain contingency plans to address various security scenarios.
      • Regularly update and test contingency plans through drills and exercises to ensure readiness.
    • Crisis Management Plan:
      • Manage Crisis Management Plan:
        • Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of the site's crisis management plan, ensuring it is comprehensive and up-to-date.
        • Ensure the plan includes clear roles, responsibilities, and communication protocols for responding to crises.
    • Manage Contract Security Personnel:
      • Direct Supervision:
        • Directly manage and oversee the daily activities of contract security personnel, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
        • Ensure that contract security staff are properly trained, informed of site communications, and conduct regular lineouts.
      • Incident Response:
        • Manage security incident response efforts led by contract security personnel, ensuring quick and effective action.
        • Review and document incident reports, providing feedback and corrective actions as necessary.
    • Security Systems and Reporting:
      • Manage Surveillance Systems:
        • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all site security surveillance systems, ensuring continuous monitoring and functionality.
        • Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs or upgrades as needed to maintain system integrity.
      • Security Reporting:
        • Generate and submit regular security reports to site management, detailing security activities, incidents, and recommendations for improvements.
        • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all security operations and incidents.
    Requirements
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
    • Skills:
      • Strong knowledge of physical security systems, access control, and risk assessment techniques.
      • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and lead teams during emergencies.
      • Proficiency in using security software, surveillance systems, and other related technologies.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions during security emergencies.
    • Experience:
      • 5+ years of experience in security management, preferably in a mining, industrial, or similar environment.
      • Experience managing contract security personnel, conducting risk assessments, and implementing crisis management plans.
      • Proven track record of developing and managing security protocols, site access control, and emergency preparedness.
      • Familiarity with industrial site security practices, particularly in high-risk environments.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • First Aid/CPR and Emergency Response training.
    • Additional training in emergency response, risk management, and security auditing.
