Principal ASME Mechanical Piping Engineer
Role Overview:
This role is integral to the Design Engineering team, emphasizing ASME Pipe Code specifications.
The Mechanical Piping Engineer collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Field Engineering, and Facilities to design and implement new structures, systems, and components that align with the operational goals of Tank Farms.
The Design Engineering function assesses current equipment and design features for operational efficiency, providing Subject Matter Expertise to ensure compliance with codes, offer design insights, and review alternative designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting code compliance assessments and executing designs that adhere to ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 standards.
- Serving as the ASME Piping code subject matter expert for various departments within Tank Farms as needed.
- Leading small, multidisciplinary teams to design projects that enhance Tank Farm operations, Effluent Treatment Facility, and other essential facilities.
Additional Duties:
- Overseeing the mechanical design components of assigned projects, including the development of specifications for systems, materials, and equipment in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
- Creating technical documentation such as manuals, calculations, drawings, reports, and procedures, as well as delivering presentations to engineering, operations, and project teams.
- Conducting site assessments to identify engineering challenges, propose solutions, and offer recommendations.
- Utilizing technical expertise to optimize costs and enhance system performance while integrating innovative ideas from advancements in engineering and science.
- Assisting in the preparation of project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Addressing complex technical issues through the adaptation of engineering solutions.
- Ensuring adherence to engineering documentation standards and testing protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range:
$140,000 - $180,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
