Job Description and Duties

Are you looking for a challenging opportunity in a high-energy, team-oriented environment? We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Disaster Assistance Program Specialist I (DAPS I) in the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Recovery Branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform average to difficult tasks relating to the provision of federal and state disaster assistance.
  • Work within various programs including grants management, public assistance, research analysis and documentation, and administration.
  • Function in a demanding and changing environment, requiring independence and effective time management.
  • Meet regulatory and internal deadlines on all assignments.
  • May be required to travel on short notice, work in a Joint Field Office, and work overtime as necessary in support of Cal OES program objectives.
Training and Development:

Training and Development (T&D) assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&D assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor.

Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in-office days may be required based on the business need.

Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
