Navistar is thrilled to announce a new opportunity for a Lead Operations Specialist to become a vital part of our research and development team. This position will be based at our vehicle testing facility and is integral to our year-round testing initiatives.

The successful candidate will oversee operations related to commercial vehicles, manage daily activities within a workshop setting, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams to ensure that project timelines and specifications are achieved.


Salary range:
$90,000-$105,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of workshop equipment and supplies essential for operational efficiency.
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, retrofits, and assist in the testing of class 4 to 8 commercial trucks and trailers.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and field technicians to troubleshoot mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures.
  • Execute Federal Annual Inspections.
  • Employ problem-solving skills to complete assigned tasks while documenting findings in reports.
  • Communicate project statuses with both in-person and remote team members.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office or other software for task management.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Support vehicle testing in various weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree and a minimum of 6 years of technical experience in the truck or automotive industry

OR

At least 8 years of technical experience in the truck or automotive industry

Additional Requirements:


Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without any restrictions.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with fleet operations, preferably with Class 6 and Class 8 vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with diesel powertrains.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
