Job Title: Payroll and Human Resources Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Northwoods Credit Union. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all phases of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Additionally, they will administer employee benefits, maintain and update payroll and benefit records, and support employee recognition and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process all phases of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer employee benefits, including deductions, premiums, and billing.
  • Maintain and update payroll, benefit, and employee records.
  • Support employee recognition and training programs.
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and staff events.
  • Answer inquiries related to employment, benefits, payroll, and HR topics.
  • Maintain organized records and files.
  • Assist in all functions of the Human Resources department as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum three years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field, with at least two years in payroll processing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll and wage laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate accounting skills required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Thorough knowledge in payroll processing procedures with familiarity in HRIS/Benefits platforms.
  • Ability to professionally handle confidential data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
