Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Admissions to join our team at Georgetown University Law Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all J.D. admissions processes, including reading, evaluating, and making admissions decisions and recommendations on applicants. This is a hybrid position, requiring a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, evaluate, and make admissions decisions and recommendations on applicants to all J.D. programs, including both first-year and transfer classes.
  • Direct both pre-application and post-admissions recruiting and counseling for the J.D. program.
  • Manage operations of the admissions office, including related activities such as the Early Outreach Initiative.
  • Represent Georgetown Law at informational forums and law fairs.
  • Direct the J.D. scholarship process and budget, overseeing the creation and updating of Admissions publications and marketing materials.
  • Oversee the Alumni and Group interview processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise excellent judgment, to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information, and to work independently but also collegially with a wide range of people.
  • At least 5 years of progressive administrative experience, ideally managing a sophisticated academic department, preferably in admissions and/or law school administration.
Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $54,000 - $100,493.33. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
