Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Staff for Special Education to join our team. As a key member of our educational support team, you will work closely with students requiring instructional and behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
- Assist students with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
- Support students with behavioral challenges, including developing and implementing behavior plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, or at least 48 college credit hours completed.
- Previous experience as a Teacher Assistant or comparable in-school position, preferably in Special Education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and systems.
