As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing our computerized maintenance management system. This includes overseeing work orders, preventive maintenance logs, parts procurement, inventory management, and reporting processes. You will collaborate closely with the maintenance team to ensure the accuracy of equipment logs, maintenance schedules, job plans, spare parts listings, and vendor information.
Your Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance parts.
- Order, receive, unpack, check, store, and track maintenance-related merchandise.
- Organize and label items with appropriate identification codes.
- Conduct routine inventory analysis and cycle counts, making adjustments as necessary.
- Store materials efficiently in bins, shelves, or racks, and handle heavy cartons as required.
- Maintain close communication with the MRO Supervisor regarding KPIs and financial objectives.
- Engage with vendors and manufacturers for procurement, warranty returns, and equipment control.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting with orders and resolving inquiries.
- Perform general office tasks such as filing, copying, faxing, and answering phones.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance storeroom inventory.
- Utilize personal computers and Maintenance Connection software to input data related to inventory, equipment, job plans, and work orders.
- Compile reports and ensure accurate maintenance documentation for the department.
Additional Duties:
Support operations as needed and perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing or inventory management.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with CMMS and inventory tracking systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Windows applications, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational and computer skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and comprehend written materials.
- Capacity to listen and understand spoken information effectively.
- Ability to design and implement plans.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various elements.
Working Conditions:
This position is situated in a manufacturing setting, which may involve exposure to high temperatures, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and loud noise levels.
