About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at BlueOval SK, a leading manufacturer of electric vehicle batteries. As a key member of our start-up team, you will play a critical role in launching our facility from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition, make necessary adjustments, log test readings, and maintain, repair, or replace all essential equipment parts.
  • Troubleshooting: Capable of working with outside contractors for trouble shooting procedures.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated person that works with little direction.
  • Urgency: Understanding urgency to trouble shoot machines and bring production back online.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Performs miscellaneous maintenance duties as required.
Work Environment and Essential Functions

Our facilities are some of the most advanced manufacturing environments in the industry. Our typical working environment is climate-controlled year-round to facilitate successful production and keep our team members comfortable while at work.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
  • Stooping and Laying: Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day.
  • Climbing and Balancing: Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment and operate in a sterile environment.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development).
  • Certification: Industrial Maintenance Certificate, Journeyman Card, or Associates Degree in related field.
  • Experience: Must have Industrial Maintenance experience (preferred automotive, chemical, food, etc). 4 years of experience preferred, or 7 years or more of experience without a certificate or degree.
Preferred Experience
  • Electrical Controls: Experience in Industrial Maintenance with emphasis on electrical controls.
  • PLC Programming: Intermediate knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, and vision controls.
  • Electrical Theory: Intermediate knowledge of Electrical Theory for AC/DC circuits, Motor Controls (VFD, Servo).
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Fundamental understanding of mechanical maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
