Job Summary:

The Cook is accountable for performing a variety of tasks and operations to prepare and cook foods for patients, residents, their families and/or staff following standard practices and procedures, complying with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and cooking of breakfast and lunch for the care center and hospital
  • Maintenance of a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Collaboration with the nutrition services team to ensure seamless operation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience in food service and/or therapeutic diets preferred but will train

Working Conditions:

The Cook works in a fast-paced kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals. The ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods is required.

Pay and Benefits:

The hourly range for this position is $18.25-$22.25 per hour. Avera offers a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive pay, paid time off, and options for free health insurance.
