Job Summary

This role is responsible for the efficient daily operation of a full-service branch. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager would assume full responsibility for a full-service branch. The ABM promotes bank products and services that support overall company goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with management to coordinate and attain branch, region, and company objectives.
  • Assist with hiring, coaching, and leading a strong support team of tellers and CSRs.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Must have the ability and knowledge to backup all positions within the branch.
  • Ensures all operational functions are performed accurately and timely.
  • May originate, process, and close various consumer and small business loan products.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing business for the branch.
  • May require participation in civic and community organizations.
  • Responsible for completion of regular monthly audits.
  • Ensures all security procedures are strictly followed.
  • Responsible for prevention of monetary loss.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to keep staff informed.
  • Assists with timely completion of annual performance reviews and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and professional business environment. Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • Participate in regular SWOT analysis for competitive advantage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication Skills

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Critical Thinking Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

Preferred Qualifications

Some banking-related courses preferred.

Software Skills Required

Intermediate: Payroll Systems, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing Basic: 10-Key, Human Resources Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint

Responsibility for Work of Others

The level of direct supervisory responsibility for the assignment of job duties, training, leadership, guidance, needs of employees, hiring, terminating, and/or direction of the effort of others.

Scoring will depend upon the number and classification of people normally supervised or directed, and the scope of complexity of the operations involved in the supervisory responsibility.

No supervision.
