Construction Consultant

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at SOBEN, an award-winning construction consultancy. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in creating and managing budgets, reviewing plans, preparing take-offs and estimates, negotiating with contractors and vendors, and building relationships with clients and site managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate and prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) based on General Contractor (GC) pricing templates through engineering development from 30% to 100% Intermediate Final Cost (IFC).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide cost-effective solutions.
- Provide procurement support with market analysis, Request for Proposal (RFP) process, bid review and leveling, contract negotiations, and contract award for GC and equipment vendors.
- Administer post-contract services, including cost estimate updates, GC bid updates, GMP buyout submissions, commercial meetings, cost reporting, payment applications, change orders, contingency usage requests, and final accounts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of cost management or estimating experience.
- Cost Manager/Estimator with Design and Construction (DC) experience.
- Proficiency in CostX.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of relevant construction technologies and trends, including sustainability.
- Excellent personal relationships skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
