Job SummaryWe're seeking a Fund Alternatives Accounting Specialist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our small, dedicated team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for our growing alternatives business. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities- Review and reconcile net asset values and investor statements, including fund accruals, expenses, and investor allocations of management fees and performance fees/carried interest
- Review annual fund audits and quarterly and semi-annual financial statements under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards
- Liaise with third-party service providers, including auditors, tax accountants, and administrators
- Assist with tax reporting requirements of the alternative funds platform
- Partner with Legal and Operations teams to meet all regulatory and board reporting requirements
- Help to enhance and document process, procedures and controls for reconciliation and reporting related to all investment fund accounting matters
- Assist with investor reporting and requests
- Complete ad-hoc requests for senior management
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting and demonstrated ability to support fund platforms
- Understanding of fixed income and mortgage backed securities, direct lending and derivatives
- Strong understanding of the dynamic accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements applicable to private funds
- Good understanding of various types of fee structures
- Familiarity with fund documents and the application of the concepts within those documents
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Team player, flexible and ability to adapt
- CPA preferred
- Competitive salary range: $104,000 - $130,000 USD
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision and life insurance plans
- 401(k) Savings plan with generous company matching contributions
- Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250/year
- Paid time off, including 20 days paid time off and nine paid company holidays
- Paid volunteer time - 40 hours per calendar year
