Mentor Instructor - Practical Nursing

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Minimum of Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
  2. Participation in a Training Program Required
  3. Master's Degree and/or Prior Advanced Training in Teacher Effectiveness
  4. Commitment to Support New Educators and Fulfill Assigned Duties Such As:
  5. Regular Observations and Feedback Sessions
  6. Attendance at Monthly Support Team Meetings
  7. Maintenance of a Log Book
  8. Continuous Support and Guidance for New Employees
  9. Same Programmatic Level as Intern and Ideally in the Same Facility
SALARY: The Mentor will receive a stipend funded by the West Virginia Department of Education.

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Academic Year

JOB DESCRIPTION: Engage in a structured program designed to assist novice educators; aid in addressing challenges faced by new teachers through support and guidance; conduct classroom observations followed by discussions regarding teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and fostering positive student relationships; assist in establishing goals and objectives; facilitate self-assessment for the intern educator.
