Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our team at William Newton Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in a Fast Track or Urgent Care setting, assisting RNs in the Emergency Department as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assesses and reassesses patient pain and pain management techniques, educating patients and families on pain management.
  • Assists Practitioners with office procedures, maintains medical and surgical asepsis, and ensures accurate and continued clinical documentation.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity, identifying and addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
  • Interacts professionally with patients, families, and healthcare providers, formulating a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluating effectiveness of learning.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with up to six (6) months LPN experience.
  • Current LPN license within the state of practice.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • ACLS completed within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
