Job Summary

VetJobs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot to join our team. As a key member of our aviation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients and medical personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a helicopter in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure the aircraft is airworthy before each flight.
  • Communicate effectively with air traffic control, medical personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including flight logs and maintenance records.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Certificate and Instrument Helicopter Rating (Airline Transport Pilot Rotorcraft Preferred)
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical (1st Class required at some locations)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum 2,000 hours of total flight time, with 1,200 hours of helicopter flight time and 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command helicopter time
  • Turbine helicopter time and night vision goggle experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Air medical operations experience
  • Single-pilot IFR operations experience
  • Night vision goggle operations experience
Work Environment
  • Temperature-controlled office and rest quarters
  • Exposure to outdoor aircraft facilities with potential cold and hot temperatures
  • Exposure to running aircraft and refueling systems
