Job Summary:

The Mobile Phlebotomist is responsible for providing clinical pre-analytical laboratory services to clients/patients in a mobile setting. This role requires excellent communication and interaction skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and timely manner
• Accurately identify patients and collect, label, process, and deliver specimens
• Maintain sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination
• Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location
• Follow all policies and procedures, including Universal Precautions

Requirements:

• Current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required)
• Current, valid State Driver's license; car insurance; good driving record; a possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements
• Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques
• Knowledge of laboratory operations

Work Environment:

The Mobile Phlebotomist works in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, and must be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities. The standard medical laboratory environment is one in which potential health hazards do exist. Associates work in all weather and driving conditions.
