Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to the standards set forth by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The incumbent will act as a liaison between various departments and external organizations, fostering collaborative relationships to promote compliance and excellence in cancer care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the institutional Cancer Program Accreditation, ensuring compliance with the latest Commission on Cancer standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all regulatory activities within the Cancer Institute, coordinating with the Institutional Review Board.
- Manage the accreditation process for disease-specific cancer programs, ensuring all necessary documentation and processes are in place.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement cancer survivorship care plans for eligible patients.
- Organize and schedule Clinical Cancer Committee meetings, working closely with the committee chair.
- Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives in partnership with disease program teams and quality administration.
- Represent the organization at internal meetings and during monitoring visits with Commission on Cancer personnel.
- Prepare for accreditation visits, ensuring all supporting documents are organized and readily available.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures related to accreditation requirements.
- Work with Information Systems to develop data capture mechanisms necessary for accreditation reporting.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree coupled with three years of relevant regulatory experience in a clinical setting is required. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in various software applications, and excellent communication abilities.
Skills and Attributes:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Commission on Cancer accreditation process, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require occasional bending and lifting of up to 10 pounds, along with frequent sitting and standing.
