Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Work with the team leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and assist in analyzing sales reports and labor data.
  • Assist the team leader in annual sales and expense projections and budget preparation, and help with ordering and inventory management.
  • Function as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the team leader, and maintain awareness of customer flows and needs.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Communicate and maintain team member safety and security standards, and provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
  • Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market's vision and goals, and foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
Requirements
  • 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat products, and a growth mindset towards greater responsibility and ownership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, and the ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures, and proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, and use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
