Job Overview

The Drake Cement team is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance activities of our plant equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in good operating condition, meets production requirements, and complies with environmental regulations.

About the Role

We are offering a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits packages, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401k matching, and paid time off. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team to achieve high productivity and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure equipment availability and compliance with production requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Establish priorities, work schedules, and inspect work to ensure quality.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, perform critical equipment maintenance, and maintain safety protocols.
  • Training and Development: Provide coaching, counseling, and training to team members to enhance their skills and motivation.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure safe working conditions, conduct weekly safety meetings, and promote adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Resource Management: Ensure availability of tools, manpower, parts, and manuals required for tasks.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Promote and assist in inspections, checks, and preventive maintenance programs to prevent malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Analyze data from inspections to improve equipment lifetime, prevent failures, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Inventory Management: Provide input on spare parts inventories and requisition outside contractors as needed.
  • Cost Management: Maintain awareness of departmental cost targets and provide information for forecasting costs.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree or vocational/technical area preferred.
