Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coordinating maintenance activities to ensure equipment is available and in good operating condition to meet the needs of the plant production requirements.
  • Ensures that the plant equipment is operated in compliance with all environmental regulations.
  • Establishes team member priorities and work schedules, oversees tasks as required and completes inspections of work to ensure quality. Job planning: creating work flow and moving the process forward with equipment research, tracking down parts, ordering parts, cost analysis, proper work techniques and procedures for short term and long term maintenance.
  • Responds to emergency situations to ensure continuity of operations. Perform maintenance on critical equipment in breakdown emergency situations. ID fan, TA Damper, Clinker Cooler Hydraulic Ram.
  • Provides regular coaching, counseling and training of team members to ensure that they have the required skills to meet their position requirements and to motivate them to maximize the productivity and quality of their work.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safe working conditions, including weekly safety meetings with team members.
  • Ensuring all resources are available for the tasks at hand eg tools, manpower, parts and any manuals or drawings involved.
  • Promotes mechanical preventive and predictive maintenance programs, assisting in inspections on plant equipment.
  • Performs systematic checks and inspections to plant equipment and assists in the established preventive maintenance program to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns and general depreciation.
  • Assists in building operating history of plant equipment. Analyzes data from inspections to improve operating lifetime of plant equipment, prevent failures, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Provides input regarding spare parts inventories to warehouse and maintenance managers.
  • Maintains awareness of department cost targets and provides information to assist in forecasting of costs.
  • Responsible for requisition and supervision of outside contractors obtained to supplement the maintenance department.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • High school diploma or GED 
  •  Associate degree, vocational or technical area
