Role Overview

The Engineering Team Lead position is crucial for sustaining a rapid pace of engineering as we expand into new sectors. If our mission and culture resonate with your values, we would be excited to have you contribute to our transformative efforts.

We are particularly interested in experienced engineers who possess a solid understanding of computer science principles and are eager to broaden their responsibilities to encompass coordination, awareness, and oversight of technology initiatives and deliverables.

This role encompasses five primary responsibilities:

  • Innovation Acceleration – Propel the delivery of essential products and features. Our current pace is impressive, with multiple releases daily across various products. However, as our success hinges on our innovation speed, we continuously strive to enhance our velocity. This is the foremost responsibility of this role.
  • Leadership in Engineering – Foster a culture of ongoing improvement and leverage Vorto's distinctive culture to cultivate a world-class, differentiated engineering team.
  • Mentorship – Guide the engineering team to challenge and develop each engineer's skills.
  • Quality and Uptime Assurance – Maintain production uptime and quality concerning performance, security, availability, and other critical factors.
  • Strategic Engineering Oversight – As the Senior Manager of Engineering, you will oversee the overall architecture of the product to align with business requirements.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in a leadership role within software engineering
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a significantly impressive software engineering background required
  • Experience in developing customer-facing, enterprise products that have achieved notable market success
  • A strong appreciation for being part of a highly dynamic team, utilizing your role to consistently enhance team performance
  • High emotional intelligence; a collaborator with a transparent approach; a thought leader who brings an entrepreneurial, problem-solving mindset to drive cross-functional teams toward completion
  • Ability to operate under tight deadlines while remaining adaptable to changing business and technical needs
  • An inspiring, challenging, and results-driven leader capable of articulating a vision and earning trust
  • Hands-on approach without excessive reliance on delegation; capable of grasping tactical details and complexities

Compensation: $165-193k
