Position Overview:

Wood County Hospital is seeking applications for a Patient Care Technician within our Pain Management Department. The Patient Care Technician is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a physician, registered nurse, or licensed practical nurse. This role also involves maintaining a safe and sanitary environment while performing assigned clerical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and document patient conditions accurately.
  • Assist with and document activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Change bed linens and organize patient rooms throughout the shift, ensuring personal items are safeguarded.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Document the proper setup, usage, adjustment, application, discontinuation, and cleaning of patient care equipment accurately.

Shift Information:

Hours: 16 hours per week

Shift: Day Shift

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Completion of a nurse aide program or relevant experience in providing nurse aide duties, including ADLs, bed changes, patient transfers, vital sign monitoring, blood sugar testing, and personal hygiene assistance. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Certification Requirements:

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STNA, Medical Assistant, or CNA certification is preferred.
  • Experience in neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patient care is preferred.
