Job Summary

As an Emergency Department Technician at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our emergency department team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist professional staff in delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients presented to the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Observe patient conditions, recognize changes in patient status, and report findings to registered nurses.
  • Escort stable patients to other departments as required.
  • Clean, procure, and return equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining stock items.
  • Perform special procedures, including venipuncture, splinting, staple and suture removal, nonsterile dressing changes, peak expiration flow rate, pulse oximetry, and crutch training.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as an Emergency Department Technician required.
  • 2-3 years of experience as an Emergency Department Technician preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within six months of hire for associates at Children's and Santa Rosa.
  • PALS certification required within six months of hire for associates at Children's and Santa Rosa.
  • EMT Basic or EMT Intermediate license preferred.
