Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance: Perform work assignments in compliance with safety standards set by OSHA and VOSHA policy and procedures.
  • Switching Operations: Perform switching orders on transmission and distribution circuits under emergency or scheduled situations.
  • Field Verification: Perform field verifications for updating the mapping system and circuit-one line diagrams as required to consistently maintain current information which contributes to a safe work environment in the field.
  • Expedited Repair: Expedite the repair of streetlights according to Operations guidelines to ensure public safety.
  • Device Operation: Operate transmission and distribution substation devices during emergency and scheduled switching.
  • Customer Coordination: Coordinate with contractors and customers on scheduled appointments for work being done at the customer's address.
  • Field Training: Provide field training for apprentice line technicians, system operators, meter technicians, and electrical engineers.
