Job Summary:

As a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator with M/I Homes, you will be responsible for originating residential first mortgages from high-capture home builder sales leads. You will partner with our home builder to provide high-touch and financially knowledgeable loan origination services, leading to successful on-time home closings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with new home sales personnel to initiate contact with purchasers in completing loan applications and collecting supporting documentation to support loan approval.
  • Prepare and communicate initial Loan Estimates.
  • Prequalify potential borrowers as needed.
  • Oversee all customer loan price negotiations.
  • Manage the overall loan transaction by communicating with applicant(s), processors, underwriters, and/or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Oversee timely scheduling of loan closings to meet home builder and borrower needs.
  • Maintain an active NMLS and State of North Carolina Mortgage Loan Originator License.
Requirements:

Some college preferred, and at least three (3) years of experience in the mortgage field. Previous experience as a loan officer is preferred.
