Job Description

As the Assistant Manager at Westlake Ace Hardware, you will play a crucial role in managing the overall store operations and achieving company goals and directives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering their queries, and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Supervise the general operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, and ensure a positive and safe work environment for all associates.
  • Assist with the implementation of Store Support Center programs and ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits.
  • Work with the General Manager and Assistant Manager to oversee all aspects of running the store, including inventory management, merchandising, and hiring and training of associates.
  • Participate in weekly management staff meetings and communicate issues to the appropriate Store Support Center department with General Manager approval.
  • Assist with special projects within the district as set forth by the District Manager and implement new Standard Operating Procedures into store execution.
  • Ensure that weekly price changes and label updates are completed timely and accurately, and oversee all cashiering functions, including training, maintenance, audits, and reports.
  • Manage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs to maximize and protect all physical assets, including building, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Visit competition to stay informed about their operations and perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of NHRA Advanced Course in Hardware Retailing recommended.
  • Previous retail management experience preferred, with hardware experience a plus.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25lbs, and climb.
