About the Position

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization, Family Services Association of Howard County, in fulfilling its mission to provide essential human services and support to families and individuals in our community.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of our organization. This position requires a strong leader with a background in human services and a commitment to community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the organization.
  • Oversee the administration, programs, and strategic plan of Family Services Association of Howard County.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff to foster a positive work environment.
  • Develop and manage the organization's budget and financial operations.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance.
  • Represent Family Services Association of Howard County in the community, building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the organization while overseeing the integration and coordination of all departments and programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a human service field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Administration, etc.).
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or administrative role.
  • Proven experience in budget management, program development, and personnel administration.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of successful organizational growth.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in fundraising and grant writing.
