Job Title: Experienced Electrical Engineer

ERG Inc is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join our team. As an electrical engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical designs for renovations and upgrades to existing buildings and power distribution systems at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical designs for renovation projects, including electrical power service, emergency generator, surge suppression, lightning protection, grounding, bonding, control systems, and telecommunications systems.
  • Conduct technical reviews of design packages created by others to assess compliance with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), electrical codes, and regulations, as well as end-user requirements.
  • Provide technical input to proposal development for renovation projects.
  • Support design process from concept through delivery of completed design package.
  • Prepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as requirements or the basis of design.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and external, and the design team.
Requirements:
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience required; 10+ years is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience with designing electrical power systems for new or upgraded buildings.
  • Experience with the design of energetics-related safety systems (e.g., bonding & grounding, lightning protection systems) is preferred but not required.
  • Must be fluent in NFPA 70 NEC.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations.
