Position Summary:

The Bus Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children enrolled in the Head Start program. This position requires adherence to Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations while providing a supportive environment for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow designated transportation routes to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain punctuality in bus schedules.
  • Account for all children during transport and ensure their safe release to authorized guardians.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding program events.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the bus and report any maintenance issues.
  • Assist in classroom activities as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and agency standards.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License with necessary endorsements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment screenings.
Physical Requirements:
