Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist Teacher to join our team at Prairie Grove School District 46. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with speech and language disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Identification and evaluation of students with speech and language disabilities.
Provision of formal reports regarding results of diagnostics for presentation at eligibility meetings.
Participation in the determination of eligibility for special education and related services for students deemed speech-language impaired.
Development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for all students eligible for speech and language services.
Provision of consultation to parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding speech and language programs.
Act as a liaison between the home and school by assisting in interpreting the speech and language program to parents.
Provision of classroom instruction in the area of language development.
Completion of required documentation and reports in accordance with state and federal laws and the district's child find obligations.
Participation on referral teams and in PPS meetings regarding student concerns as needed.
Assist in in-service training of staff in the appropriate areas.
Facilitation of curriculum and instructional modifications.
Attend staff, professional, and inter-agency meetings.
Attend professional workshops and/or conferences to maintain current licensure or school certification.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
Demonstrates collaborative problem solving.
Communicates in an effective, constructive, and positive manner with staff, students, and parents.
Interacts positively and effectively with school personnel, including administrators, teaching staff, and clerical personnel in order to be an effective team member.
Is able to be flexible and work across educational environments.

Qualifications:

Masters Degree or Higher in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders
Valid and current Illinois Teaching Certificate, Speech Pathologist, (Type, 3, 9, 10 or 73)
State Licensure as a Speech Pathologist
ASHA certification (if acting as a supervisor to speech pathology interns or CFY speech pathologist)
