Process Engineer Job Description

Ecolab is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to collaborate with our team in Ellwood City. As a key member of our production team, you will work closely with the Production Manager to review and assess design options or recommendations for structures, systems, and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of differentiated technology, products, processes, or systems.
  • Apply engineering skills and experience to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost by planning and executing engineering projects while meeting project cost and schedule objectives.
  • Support efforts to identify areas within the operations function where safety, quality, delivery, and cost may be improved.
  • Develop engineering criteria to plan projects and drive smaller projects from approval and execution to recognize objectives.
  • Work with others to ensure projects conform to local, regional, national, and corporate safety, environmental, and other applicable standards.
  • Support technical efforts to develop and integrate manufacturing processes for new and significantly revised products.
  • Plant liaison with corporate R&D group, product marketing, and corporate engineering.
  • Lead the implementation and tracking of all experimental product trials, assist production in the start-up of new or modified units or processes, including batch sheet instructions.
  • Lead assigned SPC teams, recommend and implement systems to optimize new or existing processes.
  • Develop product standard costs and monitor performance with assistance of production supervision and plant management.
  • Troubleshoot process problems based on understanding of plant processes and process chemistry.
  • Track production history and report weekly/monthly volumes to plant management.
  • Investigate and report plant upset condition summaries when applicable.
  • Develop and maintain recipes and master data for all products in SAP.
  • Support and commit to Nalco Ellwood City Plant safety, health, environmental, security, and quality principles.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in a chemical, food, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in a chemical, food, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • World Class manufacturing and TPM experience.
  • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional functional/technical skills, including experience with reactors, mix tanks, pumps, piping configuration, valves, pressure relief apparatus, heat exchangers, filters, and filtration.
