Highway Maintenance Specialist

As a Highway Maintenance Specialist with Government Jobs, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transportation infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain a variety of heavy construction and maintenance equipment used in the repair of highway pavements, shoulders, roadsides, and drainage. You will also be responsible for performing skilled labor tasks in support of bridge, traffic, roadside, pavement markings, and facility maintenance programs. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and related work as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain heavy construction and maintenance equipment
- Perform skilled labor tasks in support of various maintenance programs
- Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
- Assist in the repair of highway pavements, shoulders, roadsides, and drainage
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- May be required to work in confined spaces
- May be required to work at heights
