Job Title: Airport Operations Dispatcher

Join the Sacramento County team as an Airport Operations Dispatcher and play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our airport facilities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Operations Dispatcher to join our team. As an Airport Operations Dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching personnel and equipment, and coordinating with other agencies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our airport facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from airport personnel, passengers, and other stakeholders
  • Dispatch personnel and equipment as needed to respond to emergencies and other situations
  • Coordinate with other agencies, such as law enforcement and fire departments, to ensure a coordinated response to emergencies
  • Monitor and operate airport communication systems, including radio and telephone systems
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports related to airport operations and emergency responses
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of the P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Course or certification in police, fire, or emergency medical dispatch from an accredited college or recognized technical program
  • One year of full-time paid experience operating telecommunications and dispatching equipment, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
