Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CMM Quality Engineer to join our team at TriMech Services. As a CMM Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures in line with ISO standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools (CMM, calipers, micrometers) to inspect components and verify adherence to engineering drawings.
  • Conduct first-article inspections (FAI) and document results.
  • Develop inspection plans and sampling procedures for products and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in machining processes and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to enhance product quality and reduce waste through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality-related data.
  • Prepare and present quality reports, audits, and performance metrics to management and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Support internal and external audits, including customer and certification audits.
  • Implement and maintain calibration systems for inspection and measurement tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (equivalent work experience may be considered).
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Experience with CMM programming and operation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality tools such as FMEA, MSA, and DOE.
  • Competency in the use of various measurement and test equipment (M&TE), including calipers, micrometers, indicators, comparators, and CMM.
