The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing a friendly and professional first impression to patients, both in person and via telephone. This position involves managing appointment scheduling, processing referrals, and supporting various administrative functions as required.
This role is under the supervision of the office manager and necessitates a polite and professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients at the reception area and assist with the check-in process
- Answer incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff members
- Handle appointment requests and messages through voicemail and electronic communication
- Process payments while ensuring the accuracy of patient records and insurance information
- Coordinate provider schedules and assist with urgent referral needs
- Keep the reception area tidy and organized
- Relay patient requirements to the healthcare team
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic office software
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
- Strong stress management skills
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise levels typical of an office environment
- This position is full-time with consistent hours from Monday to Friday
