Project Archaeologist

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled Project Archaeologist to lead our cultural resource investigations in the Mid-Atlantic region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing fieldwork, managing field staff, and ensuring the successful completion of archaeological projects.

• Lead fieldwork for cultural resource investigations, including archaeological assessments and Phase I, II, and III excavations.
• Supervise and provide technical direction to field staff, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects.
• Develop and implement project plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and client needs.
• Collaborate with project managers and principal investigators to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Conduct fieldwork in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.

• Master's degree in anthropology or archaeology or a closely related field.
• Meets the qualifications as described in the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Archeology and Historic Preservation.
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or qualifications that meet requirements to become an RPA.
• Minimum 2-4 years of field supervisory experience in cultural resource management and archaeological compliance survey.
• Professional writing, problem-solving, and communication skills.
