Role Overview

The Payments Product Director will define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for payments capabilities, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to shape the future of fintech and global money movement products.

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in at least one of the following: Merchant acquiring systems and eCheck/ACH, Open banking platforms, Money remittance services, Working in the payments group at a High-risk Card Not Present (CNP) Enterprise Merchant, CNP payment gateway, Hands on experience with Payment processor integrations.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 4-5 direct reports and oversee a broader team of 15-25 professionals.
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for payments capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and regional leaders on forward-looking fintech and money movement products.
  • Launch and enhance payments capabilities that improve the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Lead both upstream product definition and downstream product development.
  • Collect insights from customers and key stakeholders to propose solutions that drive organizational KPIs.
  • Define and document product requirements, features, and functionality while considering trade-offs.
  • Partner closely with engineers, marketing, sales, customer success, risk, and finance teams to deliver delightful products.
  • Prioritize and manage the product roadmap, balancing new enhancements with product optimizations.
  • Oversee the product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Infosec teams to meet deadlines.
  • Analyze product effectiveness using data-driven methods and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Coordinate global go-to-market execution with operations and marketing teams.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, data-driven product management team focused on KPIs and OKRs across the customer engagement journey.
  • Build trust and influence across teams, stakeholders, and the global organization.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with a background in Financial Services preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful product strategies, including strong cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with experience working across various seniority levels and functions such as product, design, technology, marketing, compliance, and sales.
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams, developing talent, and serving as a role model for global cross-functional teams.
  • FinTech product development experience, particularly in omnichannel environments (retail and digital), is a plus.
  • Strong business writing, numerical analysis, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a "roll-up sleeves" attitude and the ability to prioritize critical deadlines.
  • Experience working with global teams across different countries and cultural backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with lean and agile methodologies.
  • Strong team player who can manage workloads under pressure and tight deadlines.
