Position Overview
- Manage the reception, storage, and distribution of goods, materials, and supplies.
- Examine incoming shipments and verify quantities and pricing.
- Oversee inventory management and support the First In First Out (FIFO) inventory system.
- Execute administrative tasks related to the receipt and distribution of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, assess, and process all incoming goods, materials, and supplies.
- Establish and uphold operational standards for receiving tasks.
- Supervise and carry out the receipt and evaluation of all items delivered.
- Maintain precise records and documentation pertaining to receiving operations.
- Utilize material handling equipment for the distribution of goods.
- Provide training and oversight to other staff members.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Familiarity with receiving procedures and practices.
- Capability to manage bulky or heavy items effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs on a regular basis.
- Work may involve exposure to various chemicals and extreme temperatures.
Additional Information
- Certification as a food handler is required within six months of employment.
- This position is classified as essential.
Work Schedule
- 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum of 35 weeks of service.
Compensation Details
Position classified under AFSCME Non-Exempt Grade 11.
